AXA scoops two at the National Sales Awards 2009
AXA has won Account Manager of the Year and Best Innovation in Sales at the National Sales Awards, held on February 25. The National Sales Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in sales across a wide variety of industries.

Karen Taylor, Business Development Manager for AXA’s Commercial Lines division won Account Manager of the Year for her proactive approach to account management and ability to assess business opportunities and promote business growth. Examples of her successes over the past year include increasing business with a new client by 215% and improving retention with this client from 65% to 80%. Key to her success in this category was her ability to tailor her style and approach of account management to the varying needs of the 25 insurance broking intermediaries she manages while seeking to maximise opportunities for both the clients and AXA. Mrs Taylor continues to demonstrate her commitment to account management by studying for her Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) exams.

Mr Burton manages World Class Sales (WCS); a cultural change programme created to instil and embed an innovative sales culture and improve sales capability. The WCS team have delivered initiatives which have fundamentally altered the way business is done in AXA, particularly through their development of performance management frameworks which are used to create bespoke training plans. The programme has been so successful that outside organisations have expressed an interesting in buying it.

Paul Meehan, AXA’s Customer Experience Director, commented: “The sales experience is an important part of the customer journey, so it is fantastic to see AXA being recognised for outstanding performance against all business and professional segments. Excellent sales service and innovation also demonstrates that we are treating customers fairly in this area, a key objective in the insurance industry.”
