Arab Banking Corporation announces Deputy Chief Executive’s retirement

Manama, Bahrain: Arab Banking Corporation (ABC), the international Arab bank based in Bahrain, today announced that Mr. Abdulmagid Breish, Deputy Chief Executive will be taking an early retirement effective 31 March, 2009.

Mr. Breish joined ABC almost 30 years ago and has been with the bank since its inception. ABC acknowledges Mr. Breish’s substantial contribution during his tenure and the dedication and commitment demonstrated throughout his long and distinguished career with the bank.

Both Mr. Mohammed Layas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Hassan A. Juma, President & Chief Executive, commented, “We want to thank Mr. Breish for his many years of service to the bank, his leadership and for the personal commitment he brought to every aspect of his work. We are grateful to him and we want to take this opportunity to wish him all the success in his future pursuits.”

Mr. Abdulmagid Breish remarked, “This decision has not been an easy one for me to make, however I feel that this is the right time for me to move on and seek new challenges. My years at ABC have been deeply exciting and enriching, and I have enjoyed every moment of it. The bank and staff have been a major part of my life and I will miss them greatly. I can only wish all continued success for the future.
