Adviser wins athletics break in Turin with Norwich Union Equity Release

A financial adviser has enjoyed a sporty three-day break in Turin, following a prize draw to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Norwich Union Equity Release.

Sue Read, from Moneywatch Finance in Solihull, spent a long weekend in the Italian city along with her husband Cameron after she was picked at random as the winner of the draw. The highlight of Sue’s weekend was a visit to the European Indoor Athletics Championship to see the British Athletics team in action.

Sue said: “I was over the moon when I heard that I was going to Turin and the break more than lived up to my expectations. It was amazing to be able to see some of the stars of track and field in action and it was a truly memorable experience for both myself and my husband. We’d never been to an athletics event before and were amazed how exciting it all was. We are both extremely grateful to Norwich Union.”

Runner-up prizes were also given to John Brown from Balfour Group Ltd and Matthew Hinchliffe from Smith & Pinching. John and Matthew won a pair of VIP tickets to the Aviva Grand Prix, Birmingham, including a hospitality lunch and a behind-the-scenes tour. They also received athletics vests signed by members of the Norwich Union GB and NI teams and a signed Dame Kelly Holmes autobiography.

Dominic Fraser-Smith, group product manager for Norwich Union says: “The 10th anniversary of our entry into the equity release market was a huge milestone for us, so we were keen to thank our advisers for their support over the last decade. As sponsors of UK Athletics since 1999, it seemed only fitting that we should celebrate with such prizes and we are delighted that all our winners enjoyed the events so much.”

In November Norwich Union launched a special 10-year report on equity release. The report looks at some of the trends, product innovations and customer insights learned in this period and most importantly, it looks at the future trends of this growing sector. Aviva has been the team behind UKA (UK Athletics) for more than a decade. This year it will be putting on six world class athletics events on home soil and supporting the Aviva GB and NI Team as they prepare for major championships. Aviva is also giving every child in the UK the opportunity to get involved in athletics by 2012, and hope to unearth more champions along the way. To find out more visit
