Roman Blaser a new member in the Board of Management of Generali Versicherungen

he Supervisory Boards of Generali Versicherungen appointed Roman Blaser (53) as a member of the Board of Management in charge of property and casualty insurance with effect from May 1, 2009. Roman Blaser succeeds Dr. Norbert Rollinger, who changes over to the Board of Management of R+V-Versicherungen on April 1, 2009.

Roman Blaser is a lawyer and an expert of international renown for motor insurance business. He currently is the head of motor/legal expenses insurance in Allianz Versicherungs-AG and has been a member of the Board of Management of Vereinte Spezial Versicherung AG, a company of the Allianz Group, since 2003. He was instrumental to the foundation and launch of the direct-selling insurer Allianz 24 four years ago. In addition, he has been a managing director of the Allianz Center for Technology/Automotive Engineering since 2007.

Roman Blaser had started his professional career in the Generali Deutschland Group in the area of major liability claims of AachenMünchener Versicherung AG. In 1986 he changed over to Allianz Versicherungs AG/Bayerische Versicherungsbank where he has held various management functions in administrative and fieldstaff areas in almost all lines of property and casualty business.
