The Co-operative Food store in Clipstone, Nottinghamshire, has won a top retail award from Convenience Store magazine.
It has been named Multiple Convenience Store of the Year at the national Convenience Retail Awards, which recognise the very best retailers in the convenience retailing industry.

The store, in Mansfield Road, was among eight finalists selected from more than 150 entrants across the UK in its category.

Judges commented on the fantastic team spirit in the store and said the work they did in the community set them apart from the other finalists.

In November it was named Co-operative Store of the Year, in the small store category at The Co-operative Group’s annual Good with Food Awards, for its outstanding customer service, immaculate presentation, product availability and community work.

Manager Tina Hindley accepted the trophy on behalf of her team of 21 staff at an awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Mayfair, London.

She said: “We are so pleased to receive this award, which is down to the loyalty and hard work of the whole team. We have built up a strong relationship with the local community here in Clipstone and I am really proud of what we have achieved together. I would like to say a special thanks to the staff for their hard work and dedication – they are all winners.”

Tim Hurrell, Managing Director of The Co-operative Food, added his congratulations to staff at the store. He said: “This is a prestigious award and I am very proud it has been won by one of our stores. It is a fitting reward for the hard work by everyone at Clipstone, and I am delighted they have been recognised in this way.”
